I don't see how or why it would be so difficult or bad for Bethesda to script this chest to only accept quest items and to know that they player is putting them into it.įrom now on I am saving before I pick up any named items from a chest. It could just be as simple as it's own location on the map somewhere, maybe outside the first major city you come across while progressing the main quest. I want a unique crate or chest to store quest items only! Personally if you are careless enough to lose an item in the first place you deserve to mess up your quest. The only reason you can't drop them really, as far as I know, is so that people don't drop them and then accidentally lose them.

I had this idea for a while but never had so many problems with quest items before.ĭoes anyone else think that games like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout should have special storage crates or zones where strictly QUEST ITEMS ONLY can be stored safely without the game whining about you removing them from your inventory? I mean really.

So recently playing through Skyrim I keep picking up items which happen to be quest items and then can't drop them, which really annoys me because I like my inventory neat and tidy, and not filled with random crap.
